We have two owls which have migrated near our place or must have caught our attention only now. Putti is all excited to see them and listen to its hoot. When she heard it for the first time she was so excited and happier to spot them near our window. From past few days, we both watch them and listen to their hoot/screechy call.
In addition to Owls, she is also fascinated by frog croak. It is another past time where we listen and try to spot frogs.
Never thought I will be entertained by Owls and frogs. When you have kids at home unexpected happens expectedly :)

Birthday Card
I made this Birthday card for my friend. Busy days leave me with no time for quilling. Hope to finish the pending paper quilling earrings this week.

Hilarious Menu Card
On our way back from kodaikanal our bus stopped at a restaurant for refreshments. I found their menu card more filling than food served. Took few snaps from my mobile, not very clear but will make one smile :)

A quote which held my attention for sometime while I was reading a book:
"'Absence is to love what air is to fire. If it is small, it soon goes out. If it is great, it burns stronger.'"

Latest Craze
My latest craze is “paper quilling”.
Crafts was one of my hobbies during schooling but didn’t get back to it for last few years. While googling, I recently came across paper quilling and was able to find out a reason to start again. Not waiting anymore, went to Ibrahim Street (just behind Commercial Street) and purchased the required material. Below are first few outcomes of my trial :)

Evening walk with an ice cream
Last weekend N and I were walking towards the car after having our meal at Mcdonalds on New BEL Road. It was around 10 pm and I saw two girls having ice creams and walking in front of us. I pointed out to N saying, having a college campus makes the surroundings lively even at odd hours. People can reach out to shops late in the evening and especially near Ramaiah college until 11PM. You get to see youngsters hanging around and enjoying their college days. In fact I was way back in my thoughts remembering my college days. I just loved the idea of having an ice cream and walking towards hostel chit chatting with friends. With all these thoughts running in my mind, I realised that these girls were doing their evening walk while eating ice cream. A way to loose few calories before ice cream adds up some more. I could infer that their ice creams added more calories than what they burnt!

Thatha
Putti's favourite word is "Thatha", could be because it is easy for her to pronounce at this age. It is also true that her Thatha is always with her at home spending his happy retired life.
Today when I was getting ready to office, Putti took Rs 10 from my hand; pointing her little finger in the note she looks at me saying Thatha Thatha...
I Smiled and Said Yes little one its Gandhi Thatha :)
Its amazing how these little brains co-relate!

Dieting
Last week when I was returning home, I overheard an interesting conversation:
Boy A - You have put on so much of weight man. Look at your tummy
Boy B - Yes man. I am playing basket ball to loose some weight.
Boy A - Playing basketball does not help much. You should start dieting.
These boys were not more than 8 years old. I was tempted to stand and see how their conversation would end but I passed off. I didnt know about dieting until I was in Engineering :)

Putti's Pastimes
Mirror Act
Putti is very fond of seeing herself in the Mirror. She stands in front of the mirror and stares for few seconds. With her index finger she touches her reflection and says Papa....Papa....and smiles. Sometimes she takes a few steps back, peeps into the Mirror and gives a big laugh. Touching her nose and touching her nose in the mirror excites her. Comb is another good friend of her. Standing in front of the mirror and combing her hair is almost a daily task for her and we enjoy her act
Hot and Cold
Putti comes running when we open our refrigerator to get a tomato. She always manages to get one. She takes the tomato and keep it on everyone's cheeks. We are suppose to say Shhhh.....aaaaaa thumba thandi( Its very cold). When her food is hot and she is in hurry to eat she does woooof wooof and tell us its Shhhhhhhhh aaaaaa (meaning its hot )
Putti on Phone
Sometimes putti picks up the phone, presses few buttons and starts speaking. We can’t understand her language but we love her speaking in her own language. She pretends to be in a very serious conversation and keeps moving her hand as if she is explaining something to the other person. She also pauses in the middle makes us feel she is listening to someone on the other end. Once she finishes her chit chat, turns back to us handing over the receiver and points to hook it.

My Little Putti
My colleague P asked me do you jot down your putti's events anywhere.
I have not kept any record of it till date, but would like to do it now. Thanks P for your suggestion.
My little one is 13 months old. I still remember the first time I held her in my hands, tiny little fingers, twinkling eyes, small feet and black thick hair a blissful moment. Time just passed by and every moment with her is just beautiful.
She has developed her own taste for food. She just likes Chapati, grapes and anything from our plates especially spicy ones! Gone are the days when she used to love Cerelac, Oats etc
Some days she waves me Goodbye with a cute smile and somedays she just stares with her eyes filled. Worst are those days when she cries when I am leaving to office. Her welcome smile when I reach home after work makes me happy and energetic to run behind and feed her dinner.
Will be jotting down more interesting stories about my “putti” as we move on...
